My love for textile design unfolded after years of obtaining skills in other forms of visual arts, such as metal design, sculpture, painting and illustration. My passion for craft developed early on in life. Beyond painting and drawing, much of my creative time was spent knitting and occasionally sewing small garments and accessories.

This passion for fiber arts expanded when I attended post-secondary at Capilano University, after departing to the coast from my hometown of Calgary, Alberta. During this time, I was introduced to several concepts, including loom weaving, spinning, tapestry, embroidery, fiber dying, composition, and surface design.

Initially, my studies of visual arts included painting, illustration, sculpture and metal/jewellery design. It was several years later that I experimented with beadwork and thus, found another passion to explore within the family of textile design.

When I’m not working on my art and craft, my time is filled through my career within the fields of veterinary medicine and animal care. Otherwise, I enjoy spending time being outdoors, finding new music, hunting through local thrift and vintage stores, reading, studying, and looking for basically any new adventures I can explore (new skills and hobbies included!).

◈▪ I take pride in using high-quality materials while selecting natural and/or repurposed components for my art. I do my best to source materials made from local (or Canadian) artists and distributors. My goal is to incorporate sustainable, organic creativity wherever possible, without sacrificing quality, craftsmanship, or originality. ▪◈

For the time being, I am not producing new canvas paintings. Commission inquiries are welcomed. ♡
